Eduardo Suplicy

Eduardo Matarazzo Suplicy is the honorary president of BIEN – Basic Income Earth Network, honorary president of RBRB – Brazilian Network of Basic Income, and president of the Mixed Parliamentary Front of the Brazilian Congress, for the implementation of permanent Basic Income.

 

Economist, business administrator, and university professor born in São Paulo on June 21, 1941. And he is one of the best-known politicians in Brazil for his 42 years of public life and for having acted in various instances of Parliament: he was a state deputy, senator for three legislatures, and three times councilor of the city of São Paulo.

 

He graduated in business administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s School of Business Administration (FGV), earned a master’s degree in economics from Michigan State University, and a doctorate from Stanford University, California. In 2015 he received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, a title awarded by the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium).

Diego Zeidan

Deputy Mayor of Maricá, Secretary of Solidarity Economic Development in the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro, graduating in history and public management, was the Secretary of Solidarity Economy of Maricá responsible for the implementation of Basic Income in the Municipality.

Marcelo Lessa

  • Communication Director of the Brazilian Basic Income Network.
  • Speaker and benefactor member of BIEN – Basic Income Earth Network.
  • Vice President of AGCC – Rotary Association of Scientific Knowledge, Angola.
  • Executive undersecretary of works and projects of the Municipality of Itatiaia – RJ.
  • Graduated from the Electronic Computing Center of UFRJ – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – in the area of Information Systems.
  • Entrepreneur in the field of Communication and Marketing since 1995, and manager of Lessa Social Marketing.

 

His goal is the implementation of income distribution to adapt capitalism to the economy after the 4th industrial revolution.

Dr. Roberto Ivo da Rocha

Is graduated in Economics from the University of São Paulo (2000), Master’s in Economics for Development – University of Oxford (2005) and holds PhD in Sciences from the University of São Paulo – Faculty of Medicine (2014).

 

He is currently a visiting professor at San Diego State University and an associate professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro at Industrial Engineering Department and the Program of Production Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ).

 

He has experience in Economics, with emphasis on Economics, Economic Engineering, working mainly on the following subjects: Neuroeconomics, Financial Market, Decision Sciences and Behavioral Finance.

Dra. Caamal Olvera

Dr. Cinthya G. Caamal-Olvera obtained her MSc and PhD in Economics at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. She studied her bachelor degree in Economics at the Facultad de Economía at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, where she is actually a full-time professor since January 2009.

 

She has hold administrative positions as the director of the Center for Economics Research and editor of the Ensayos Journal of Economics at the UANL. From 2014-2018 she was the local coordinator of an international initiative Understanding Children´s Work (UCW) with a research agenda to study child labor in Mexico financed by the ILO, UNICEF and the World bank. She is a member of the National Research System Level 1 of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT).

 

In her sabbatical year 2020-2021 visited the Labour Institute for Economic Research located in Helsinki Finland with a project related to the universal basic income in Mexico financed by CONACYT.

 

Her publications are in the area of labor economics, education, development, and poverty in Mexican and international journals.

Dr. Marco Krebs

Holds a PhD in Production Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ, a Master degree in Business Economics and Finance from the Graduate School of Economics / EPGE of the Getulio Vargas Foundation and chemical engineer from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

 

Currently is a Collaborating Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ, Professor at the Getulio Vargas Foundation – FGV/IDE-Management.

João Marcelo

Graduated in Production Engineering with emphasis in economic engineering in the industrial engineering department of UFRJ. He worked as an independent investment agent and today holds the position of analyst in the area of pension products at Icatu Seguros S.A.
